The National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) named its Disaster Relief Fund after Mike Browning, who serves as NAAA Executive Vice President and is General Manager of Manheim San Antonio. The honor was presented to Browning during NAAA's 75th anniversary kickoff celebration at its 2023 Total Access Spring Business Meeting in Dallas.

The new name, the Mike Browning Disaster Relief Fund, is part of the NAAA Warren Young, Sr., Scholastic Foundation. The fund is set up to provide immediate assistance to auction team members and their families as they recover from natural disasters.

Browning was instrumental in establishing the Disaster Relief Fund. When he was General Manager of Manheim New Orleans, he witnessed first hand the devastation that Hurricane Katrina caused not only to his auction location but also with auction team members’ homes. Browning saw how much of a difference can be made by individuals by getting involved and giving back, which later became inspiration for the Disaster Relief Fund.

“I can’t think of anyone who is more deserving of this honor,” said 2023 NAAA President Garrison Hudkins. “Mike’s selfless dedication to the NAAA, Manheim, his team members, and above all his genuine caring and compassion for others make him the perfect person to name the Disaster Relief Fund after.”

Last fall, after Hurricane Ian left a devastating impact on Florida, NAAA sprang into action to assist 14 auction members who were affected by the storm by distributing VISA gift cards through its Disaster Relief Fund. In 2021, NAAA provided 20 VISA gift cards to Louisiana’s 1st Choice Auto Auction and ADESA New Jersey to help their team members get back on their feet following Hurricane Ida.
